Alex Della Bruna

I am a Research Fellow and MSc student in Cybersecurity at the University of Milan. My research focuses on security assurance and certification of machine learning models. Previously I also worked on certification of distributed and cloud-edge systems.

I am affiliated with the SESARLab, where I conduct research and manage the entire laboratory’s high-performance computing infrastructure. I’m advised by Prof. Dr. Marco Anisetti (Scholar), Prof. Dr. Claudio A. Ardagna (Scholar), and Prof. Dr. Ernesto Damiani (Scholar). Currently I’m working with Prof. Dr. Nicola Bena (Scholar), previously I also worked with Dr. Filippo Berto (now at CERN), Dr. Antongiacomo Polimeno (now at Engineering S.p.A.), and Dr. Ruslan Bondaruc (now at Leonardo S.p.A.). I have also been involved in several industrial collaborations with TIM S.p.A., Almaviva S.p.A., Engineering S.p.A, Revetec s.r.l. and Aruba S.p.A. (upcoming).

Alongside my academic activities, I collaborate with Moon Cloud, a spin-off of the University of Milan, where I work on the design of decentralized cloud-native architectures and on the development of security assurance controls for machine learning and cloud-edge continuum systems.

I actively contribute to the research community through publications, workshop organization, conference program committees, and the coordination of bachelor’s and master’s theses in the areas of cybersecurity, machine learning, and distributed systems.
